Using Virtual Reality in the Treatment of OCD

$67.00

Let’s face it, some fears and situations are hard to replicate and confront in reality with our clients. The power of Virtual Reality allows us as clinicians to help clients face fears and difficult scenarios that are awkward to replicate in real time. The best part about it is that we get to do that in the safety of our office!

WHAT IS VIRTUAL REALITY (VR) THERAPY?

Virtual Reality Therapy is an evidence based treatment that can be used as an adjunct to already existing forms of therapy. VR is validated by over 20 years of psychological research, shown to improve traditional therapy in a number of ways.  It has been shown to be effective in treating phobias and anxiety disorders, and has been shown to be helpful in treating other conditions including OCD, pain management, emotion regulation difficulties, and difficulties with attention and concentration.

WHAT WILL THE TRAINING INVOLVE?

The training is an online video where I will be showing you how VR works and how you can use it in treatment using role play. The recording includes questions and answers from a previous live recording.

WHEN and HOW WILL THE TRAINING BE RUN?

The training will be sent to you via email and video link for you to watch it back in your own time and at your own pace. Once you register, an email will be sent to you with the details.

DO I REQUIRE ANY PRE-EXISTING KNOWLEDGE TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS WORKSHOP?

To gain the most out of this training you’ll need to have a basic understanding of exposure based therapy.

CPD: 1 Hour.
